As the bible says, we are created in the image of god, and god is almighty. So what would happen to faith if/when we discover (or most likely are discovered By) beings of a higher intellingence and stature than us humans of god? Would that make us inferior?, thus making God inferior?

With eventual contact with a far superior alien intelligence, which I pray I see in my lifetime, I foresee the rise of a new spirituality, and hopefully as far removed from "organized religion" as possible; one based on the incredible fact that the material of the universe can give birth to beings that can comprehend and contemplate themselves; conciousness squared--the most precious in all creation. We can still have a personal relationship with the Creator who by His will creates and sustains the multiverse every millisecond of it's existance. And by the way, may God bless our (majority elected, remember?) President.

Just because the Bible states we are created in the image of God doesn't equate that we are as highly developed intellectually. You just have to look at our president for proof of that. But seriously, being different would be enough in many religious, and I use the term loosely, people's minds to refuse the notion that another race could possibly have been created by their God. Sound familiar? It should.....let's not forget about the slaves in our earlier history. They didn't even have souls and were no more than the cows, sheeps and dogs. We do it to our own human race even today.

I don't see a visit shaking the belief in God. If anything, it would strengthen it. Since God is almighty, perhaps he can make himself to reflect the images of any species He has created. Now there's a possible solution to the evolutionary scheme of things.

Maybe the bible is wrong then- because God can never be inferior. The nature of god is all-knowing, all-powerful, and benevolent. But discovery of superior aliens wouldn't cause people to abandon faith altogether. There are many more illogical things that people blindly follow. It's the nature of humanity.

It is we who CREATED God to promote society. Hence if superior lufe forms are discovered then it would hardly make any difference as the human ignorance will yet again make God superior

They'll think we are quaint, and want to pat us on the head and take our picture. As for faith, it will adapt as it has always had to do when science is shoved down its throat. Once upon a time, the notion that earth was not the center of all was heresy.

Yes. It would, but possibly, god does not need aliens to make him inferior.
