I mean, take out the pepperoni, I believe all the rest is good for your health to a certain extent.

Well, to be honest with you it's not junk food. Why? Because it's not fired, but baked (at least real Italian pizza is) cheese is good for you (calcium) and tomatoes are good for you (they have antioxidants and are good to prevent cancer) and bread (the dough) is also good for you because all wheat products (carbohydrates) are essential to our diet. But it's definitely NOT a diet food. If you want to loose weight it's not the thing to eat. And as always it's good for you in moderation. If you eat 2 pizzas it might make you gain weight which in turn makes you unhealthy. Obviously this is always relative to the person. Some people are lactose intolerant so pizza wouldn't be ideal for them. Some people have an intolerance to tomatoes, so this wouldn't be good either and some people have problems in digesting wheat products.

A pizza can be made very healthy, it all depends on the ingredients. There is some pepperoni that is healthier than other kinds. And, like most things if you want it healthy, it's best to make it yourself. I have a friend that makes a roasted vegetable and chicken breast pizza that is just to die for.

No; pizza these days is whatever you make it.

I'm a traditionalist, meaning I was raised on classic pizza; mozarella, tomato sauce, sausage, mushroom, pepperoni...

But I also learned to enjoy more creative kinds like this:
Boboli cruse, mozarella, chicken chunks, Thai peanut sauce, broccoli, shredded carrots, more cheese. After baking, add more peanut sauce. Trust me, it rocks.

There are so many good pizza recipes out there.

Junk food? Na.....deep fried cheese curds are junk food.

Pizza is good eats.

PIZZA IS JUNK... wow all of that oil, and cheese and fake tomato and hugely overdosing in carbness- base

Although...
i shall give ya a little recipe..

lightly toast a pitta bread.. so it's not even crispy..
Put some tomato puree on it...
Grate some cheese on it..
add a few herbs for flavour

Put it under the grill for a couple of minutes

And et voila

HEALTHY (er) pizza :)

According to an article l've read, there is no such thing as a junk food. We still get something from it; be it potato chips, burgers or chocolates.
lt only became junk food because there is too much (like sodium, carbohydrates, etc.)that our daily required intake of nutrients do not need.

Pizza is not junk food.

Pepperoni is the entire reason for eating pizza.

I think it can be part of a healthy and nutritious diet, but it depends on how it is cooked. However, I like my pizza with extra cheese.
