She has a bruise on her carpal area of her hand, and I am trying to get her to get it checked out. But she is scared of doctors and also does Vaulting, she has competitions coming up and she doesn't want to let her team down... How do I get her to try going to get it checked if she is reluctant?

honestly...you cant convince anyone. i heard this quote somewhere.. "anyone convinced against their will, will have the same opinion still." eventhough this doesnt necessarily relate to your situation.. i know this is tough for you, cuz you care enough about them to bug them and post it on yahoo. tell them that you care about their health, and that they will regret not going. but i bet shes thinking that its okay, cuz she needs to compete, shes probably like the best player her team has. maybe its not that bad? maybe it actually does need immediate or at least eventual professional examination. ultimately, you cant convince her. you can only tell her how much you care about her, and maybe you can scare her and tell her whats the worst case scenario. ive been in this situation before. you know whats best for her health, but this meet means more than that to her, and you cant chnage her mind. if shes your gf or potential gf, dont be sad over this. you have to find inner happiness, seriously i know it sounds cliche but its true as anything. hope it helps

Don't you need both of your hands when you do the vault? I think so. Has she vaulted with the injured hand? If so, then it probably is not broken. A broken bone is extremely painful and any manipulation of that bone will cause horrible pain. She should have the hand check out anyway. But if she is vaulting with it and it hurts, but not horribly so, then it probably is not broken.

Take her out. Tell her that checking does no harm. It is better to know. Otherwise, if a fracture is left untreated, it will not heal properly and she may never be a ble to vault again. Drive near a hospital and go in with her.

Tell her if she doesn't get it checked out, the bruise will get worse.
