If they are felons then most likely they have already used up the citizen allotment of financial aid in free housing during their incarceration. As well as free medical, free dental and they should have taken advantage of the educational opportunities while in the clink - now that they are out it is welcome back to the real world and the gravy train stops.
Instead of lifting weights in prison, perhaps they should be studying in the library earning their degree.
They now get to be like the rest of us and work for a living, pay for our own tuition and be a (here's a novel idea) productive member of society.
No more free ride - what have they done to deserve financial aid besides costing the rest of the taxpayers money and being a burden on society? Nothing, that's the answer.
Give the financial aid to some young person who is starting out in life and needs the boost up in the world, not someone who has had their chance and blown it.
Once you commit a felony you forfeit the "right" to demand things that the rest of us earn.

I assume you mean felons that have already paid their debt to society. It is because they have lost part of their freedom as a citizen of the US. You can watch this happen, when someone first gets arrested for something small, it isn't a big deal. Fines and community service usually is all you will have to do. But as the crimes get bigger you show the government that you can't handle your freedom, so they take some off your rights away. the further you go, the more rights you lose. Anyways, why should felons get financial aid? What have they done to deserve it more than the hundreds of law abiding citizens that apply for it?

I am not sure exactly of the answer to your question. But in most cases, There limited to what kind of work they can get. They must always provide there felon information when applying for a job. I do think that is why so many of them end back in Jail cause they are limited to work. And then many of them just dont no how to make it out here in the real world once there set free. I am not saying that they should get aid but I think that they should find different ways to allow many of them to be able to get work to keep them from doing bad things again which ends them right back in there.

Felons must be punished for their crimes and not to be given financial aid because money of taxpayers must be spent on beneficial projects.
