was wondering if i can put a cd drive from an eTower 566i on to my dell dimension 2400?

Yes you can, just make sure your Master / Slave settings are appropriate to the new setup. Also, note the Brand and Model # of the CD drive before you install it. If Windows doesn't find and install the drivers automatically, search the manufacturers website for the drivers, or look for it on www.driverguide.com .

Yes you can. Be sure the jumper on the rear of the CD-ROM drive is set correctly for how it's connected to the IDE port.
