neither team looked good in that rain. I think the Colts just somehow made less mistakes - having a lot to do with superior offensive play from Peyton & co. I think the key drive was the first drive of the 3rd quarter, where colts scored after keeping the ball for over 7 minutes to open the half. The fact was that Peyton along with great running was able to move the ball steadily (in that drive) without making mistakes and keeping the Bears D on the field.
Both defenses played pretty well, I thought. Bears defense was just exhausted and not quick enough in the 4th quarter, giving up short gains and letting the Colts wear them down. It reminded me of the awful Chiefs/Colts wild card playoff game - KC defense played very well but the offense was so ineffective that by the 4th quarter Defensive players were keeling over from leg cramps and fatigue. Indy's offense did NOT shine but they were better and held it together. Bears offense never got into a rhythm - all the scoring came too quickly (Hester's return, then the short field from the Indy special teams penalty, etc) and then Rex playing from behind is Rex making big, hurried mistakes. Basically in conditions like that - where the rain is pouring and everyone is dropping the ball and sliding - it seems like whichever team can hang on to the ball the longest wins and that was Indy.
Bears special teams kicked Indy's special teams' bottoms, at least.

The Colts are good enough to change styles to do whatever it takes to win. What you saw them do against the Bears is exactly what it took.
How can you say the Colts didn't look that great? The Colt offense ran 81 plays!!!!! 81 PLAYS!!! The Bears had only 48.
Sounds like the Colt strategy worked beautifully. They lined up and simply smashed the Bears in the mouth to the tune of 430 yards and 24 first downs!!
By contrast, da Bears had a meager 265 for the game. In all honesty, if Hester doesn't break that kick on the first kick-off the Bears offense wasn't going to score over 7 points all night.
You don't have to like the Colts or Manning. They can just gaze at that big Super Bowl trophy and those big jewel encrusted Super Bowl rings and forget about the Bears and the whining, big mouth, Bears fans.
Hey Bear fan... you've gotta have more than that to win. The Bears would only be about the 5th best team in the AFC. Maybe next year!

You don't have to think so but the Colts are an awesome team and work very well together. It wasn't the Bears sucking that won the game, it was the Colts being the great team they are and getting the job done. If they weren't that good, why would have been the last team standing undefeated in how many seasons now? And when's the last time the Bears have even beaten the Colts??

The Colts had a better game plan. The Colt controlled all 3 phases of the game.
Special Teams:
Outside of the opening kickoff every kick was squidded to return team taking away the return threat. Also won the battle for field position.
Offense:
Colts used quick short passes to move the ball (quick passes with a few screens and draws neutralized the Bears blitz) and a ground attack that keeping the Bears Defense on the field. No Huddle didn't allow for mass subs.
Defense:
The Colts quick Defense was able to get pressure on Rex.
The Bears couldn't adjust.

Both teams are good, I think it had a lot to do with the weather. The ball was slipping out of their hands (there were so many fumbles) and people were falling all over the place just trying to make a tackle. The Colts weren't doing so good at the beginning, I mean I was about to give up hope in the first quarter. But they became focused and just played the game. I think the Bears were stuck on the fact that a lot of people thought they were going to win, that they couldn't focus on the game.

Today it would seem that the Colts were that good. And today the Bears did play bad. However the Bears are a good team even though people do not give them the credit. They had the second best offense and I would say the best defense this year. I just think this game Grossman made some bad decisions but hey he is still human.

i'd been saying all week that the best bet for the bears would be to keep their defense off the field. the more time peyton has to decipher the bears defense, the further and further the colts would get away from the bears.
neither team was bad. during the regular season the bears didn't need great offense to win games. but their lack of offense finally came back to bite them in the butt.

Both. Everything about the Bears stunk today. From the coaching on down to the execution on the field. The Colt's were not that great in the beginning, but after halftime they made their adjustments and picked apart the Bears on both sides of the ball, executing their schemes to perfection.

Colts only won by 12, but the game was over at halftime. The books made the halftime Colts -6, and they got killed the second half. No one took the bears.
