Our friend said "death" a bit facetious and in a sense true. But that is not really a future it's an end. As to the future of humanity as a culture it is to early to even guess. We are the new kids on the block with only a few million years of existence. As homo spines a few hundred thousand years old. We can't even make a statement as to whether we are evolutionary successful. There is life out there on this planet that has been around hundreds of millions of years. Sharks, Crocodiles, Bacteria(some of these little fellows are a couple of billion years old). There are two many parameters and too many unknowns and we know so little that it becomes virtually impossible to make any intelligent prediction. Even so there are people and groups of humans that maintain things like Armageddon etc. Bottom line it can't be done for the time being.

The future of human life is in the new specialization of genetics and bio technology. Humans will be engineered to be super humans, able to do everything and more then everything, recover from disease, and live until the world is destroyed.

future is just like the present and the the past, the difference is that we cannot know the future and we forget (partially) the past; my advice: live and believe in present
