That is true and will be true for the foreseeable future. So what do you think should be done about it? People are not going to quit attending a Church, Mass, Temple, Circle or whatever simply because people get slaughtered in the name of religion. As long as you have those that insist that they have the only true path and that they have to convert the unbelievers-however they are defined-this will continue. The most dangerous religious is the fundamentalist-the one that believes in the literal rather than in the interpretation of the religion. One can be fundamentalist in any religion-we see them in Christianity, Judaism, Islam and so forth. They are willing to die or kill in the name of their religion. What the solution is-I haven't a clue.

I totally agree - and I can't tell you who said this but it was a letter to the editor in Time Magazine a couple of years back
"The main problem with the world today is too much religion and not enough common sense" - I agree with that also

I am not 100% sure that is true. It seems that greed and envy are right up there in numbers of people killed. Can you or the Milk man give exact numbers of dead caused during the Crusades/Inquisition/Salem etc....or those killed by the Huns/Vikings/Moors/Romans/Bush?
I do not totally disagree with the statement though.

I completely agree, which is the same point I made to my Mother (wording varied somewhat) when she wanted to argue with me for the hundrenth time re: my orientation on why I would not debate Biblical principles with her. It is quite an irony, I sadly admit.

I agree whole heartedly. It wouldn't be so if differences could be respected among all of us.
