Do you think that a man should never hit a woman?

I ask because I hear it alot. But what about a woman hitting a man? I think it should go the other way and people should say "people shouldn't hit people".

I agree that people should not hit people. I think a man on his honor alone should never hit a woman. However, I agree that if a woman is hostile and aggressive and hits the man, the situation does change slightly. I don't agree with this type of provocation. I think in certain extreme cases it has become okay for a man to actually restrain or even hit a woman.

Very nicely said, people should not hit people.

If a woman is say someone like Chyna from the wrestling thing and she hit say Don knots, she could likely do some serious damange.

On the other hand if a woman hits a man shouldn't she know that he is stronger than she is, and so he can likely to do serious damange to her in return, or know that she is taking unfair advantage and therefore committing abuse since he can not hit back?

There really isn't a reason for people male or female to hit each other. Somone may argue that you can do this to defend yourself, but if no one is hitting to start with then no defense is needed.

I believe NO ONE should hit any one, for any reason. To carry this out over the course of a lifetime requires great courage, education, and empathy. Frustration and powerlessness lead people to become violent. The most violence is committed by those who have the least courage. You will understand this more by examining violent situations.
A man decides to steal a woman's purse. What type of woman does he choose? A woman he is convinced he can overpower. This same principal applies, in some form, to all violence.
Domestic violence is no exception. And, yes, it is committed by both parties. It is not often a woman kills a man with her hands, or even with a knife or gun. But it does sometimes happen. The most violence is committed by men. Either way it is wrong, and unhealthy for both parties no matter who is the initiating party. Let's each commit ourselves to never becoming the initiating party.

I don't think that any person has the right to hit another person unless its as self-defense. There is no need for a woman to hit a man and more needs to be done about domestic violence cases where it is the man who is the victim from being attacked the woman. I am a woman and I don't think we should have any more right to hit a guy than they do to hit us, its double standards and a case of were woman don't want equality but superiority which I don't think is the way to go.
If we want things to be equal this is a case of where it should be "people shouldn't hit people".

No one should hit anyone. I think its especially appalling when a man hits a woman because the man is usually stronger and bigger than the woman. But, I have also heard of woman knocking the tar out of a husband or boyfriend. So it can go both ways.

Yes, I agree people shouldn't hit people. Man or Woman alike, people should walk away and cool down before anything should escalate in an argument. I believe we are more civilized than that. It is only acceptable in a case of self defense.

For me, yes, for a man to hit a woman will bring him down to the level of animals.

I fully agree with you on this, however....there are moments of insanity in everyones life, and believe me,... a guy will usually do much more damage to a woman than a woman can do to a man.
A swing from a woman usually cant even come close to the swing of a man. Woman have temper tantrums yeah its true, but we are very good to our families, and our guys need to protect us... not beat us into a pulp.... I speak from personal experience, having my rib broken and several bruises.. What is scary is the after effects of it.. and how you will end up with so much hate in your heart......

I think it should go both ways, but it is worse in my opinion, and in the opinion of most people, for a man to hit a woman. Because she is smaller, and female, and men have a role to be protectors, while women are nurturers.
