An arowana could live in a koi pond assuming the water quality is correct and the temperature doesn't get below the low 70's. For most of the US that's really only a very short part of the year.

Also I would point out that all Arowana are currently listed as an endangered species and owning, buying or selling them is illegal in the US and Canada.

No it can't, arowanas get too enormous and they inhabit an similar part of the tank as bettas (excellent). Bettas can in common words stay with extremely non violent community fish, in case you do not have the variety of tank get the betta its personal heated and filtrated 5+ gal. also, are you particular thats a betta?

It really depends on where you live. if it freezes in the winter you will have to arrange to bring him inside. in fact if it gets too cold at all you probably will be in trouble. i'm assuming your pond is filtered and your monitoring water quality
