Some countries are using oil more efficiently than others. For instance, 10 people in the US use 0.667 bbl/day whereas Germans use less than half (0.325 bbl/day). Germany's per capita GDP is lower, but they extract about 70% more GDP from a barrel of oil than the US. If the US economy became as oil efficient as the German economy, the same GDP could be achieved with 58% of current oil consumption. Oil imports would drop by 80%, and the cost saving would be about $500 million per day.

The easy answer for public policy makers is to study the practises in more successful jurisdictions and then to copy the best features. In North America, more emphasis could be placed on rail and ship transport and less on air and road transport.

I don't know for sure that we as humans cause global warming. I don't believe all the crap that gets put on television or in newspapers. I am going to stick to my SUV and keep all the lights on. But you keep on hugging trees. To each his own you know.

How do we know that we caused it? Because a few scientists agreed that it is so?

While I'm all for reducing greenhouse gasses and such, I think that it's just part of a natural cycle. After all, Earth's been through ice ages before, I think that it's reasonable to assume that it's going to get hot every once in awhile, just as it's going to get cold.

Really, wasn't Greenland once actually 'green'?

We know this, eh? How do we know this.....because we saw it on TV or read it somewhere, eh?

Using this logic, I had better hope Batman saves me from the evil penguin. I saw on TV that he intends to rule the world.

I suppose you think that the dozens of times over the past several millions of years that the temperature increased and declined was your fault as well, eh?

Turn off the TV and engage your tiny little brain. Try to start being capable of independent thought.
