How is it possible that John Kerry was the best the democrats could offer and George Bush the best the Republicans could offer? Is it me or is the United States desperate for a real candidate?

Not sure if this question is retorical, but here is my personal opinion.

First off, it took a lot for these men to reach their status. They are obviously very successful in their careers and had enough knowledge to be leaders of their states. So asking why they are the best would be the result of people voting based on leadership skills. Bush is the incumbent, automatically a candidate, and Kerry was voted best in the primaries because he's more popular. So the answer is yes the U.S. needed a new candidate and already made their decisions.

My own feeling is that the people best able to lead this country are too smart to take the job. I really wish Collin Powell would have run at some point. I trusted him. It is usually the power-hungry ego maniacs who run...IE: Hillary Clinton is a prime example.

IF KERRY had been elected, we'd all be dead by now.

And WOW!! Now it's 8000 Ohio votes? Last I heard it was 3500. Good Grief. They must be multiplying. What about the 2000 that were ripped off of the Republicans in Florida? If you count that, they cancel each other out and he'd STILL be YOUR PRESIDENT.

When will you Libs get over it? YOUR HORSE HEAD CANDIDATE LOST!!

Kerry was picked by Karl Rove. He was out of the running for the nomination, then all of a sudden he was the front-runner and nominee.

I cringe when I think of all the great candidates that will never be heard in this country due to lack of influence and/ or finances. Terrific question, hope you get some good feedback. It would be nice to vote for hope instead of the lesser of two evils.

This is exactly why we were never supposed to have political parties. It's no longer about who's best for the country, it's about who's best for the party.

ok mr bauer,,,, I see you are really into politics,, how about stirring things up abit and start spending more time looking at the other side of the coin.

Start looking for clues and the truth , youll soon find that everything is under control and we are all being lied to. most people here havent looked for the truth so they will thumbs me down, but when you start looking behind the mask youll find that things are never what they seem.
