I was looking through Romeo and Juliet's character list and it mentioned a person named Rosaline. It stated that she was the women whom Romeo is infatuated at the begining of the play. But I can't find the scene where she is mentioned. In what act and what scene was Rosaline mentioned?

She's first mentioned in Act I, Scene 2, where Romeo and Benvolio are talking. Her name also shows up in Act II, Scene 3 and 4.

Rosaline became into Romeo's lover, yet she does not love him back. So Benvolio and Mercutio tried to get him to crash the Capulet's occasion, and there they was hoping he might locate somebody else to love simply by fact he became into all worked up approximately her. somewhat, it somewhat is the place Romeo and Juliet got here across one yet another and fell in love. in the play I observed, Rosaline became into in no way even portrayed by employing an actress on point.

It's the very first scene with Romeo. He is talking to Mercutio about his recent falling out with Rosaline. I'm thinking Act I scene iii probably.

She isnt an actual character in the play- when R&J begins we are already in the middle of life happening. Its like we enter at a specific moment in time when events are already in motion.
