Or is it them? I was in an ethics class and we were talking about "what would you say to the imprisoned Hitler".

Everyone was talking about trying to debate him or reason with him. When it came to me I said I'd put a gun to his head and do away with him. People just looked at me like I was insane.

I mean come on the bastard killed like 12 million people and millions more in a war he started. If one person has to die for something like that not to happen, especially the one responsible for it, then it's a small price.

Question in an ethics class are "loaded" for a purpose. There is no one in an ethics class qualified to debate with that lunatic. Your reply is the better answer but perhaps not too good for your grade in ethics. Play the game in class. If he's in jail, his crimes have already been committed. He's imprisoned so the system will take care of him. So I think the perfect thing to say to an imprisoned Hitler is . . .goodbye.

Sure that there is no debate with Hitler, nor anyone else that has no respect for human life.
You and your class far away (be happy about that) from every-day wars around the world. Maybe, just maybe, if everyone went through such ethics classes and understood why "quick solutions" are not good, maybe we would have less wars.
I agree, play the game of ethics. At least respect others thrive not to be the judge.

You do not question vermin, you exterminate them. If he were in prison it would only be a matter of time before his execution so maybe it would be better to let justice take it's course. Shooting him would only generate you problems.
Putting yourself above the law will only bring legal retribution although what you wish to do is a wish shared by millions.
I like the answer that you would say "Good bye a**hole" and squeeze the trigger but it isn't ethical. I don't think that talking to him is either.

You are an unique thinker. And are not afraid to speak your mind. That was possibly not a politically correct answer, but I for one, agree with you.

Find people who are free thinkers like you are, if you want to discuss concepts and ideas from an out-of-the-box thought process.

Good for you!

There is nothing wrong with you but why must we give a small price for his big crimes. We should tortured him with hard labour during day and hard core during night (let the gays rape him all night long), so he know how 'good' his own medicine.

that is part of the socially accepted behaviour.
there may be so many wanting to do the same but expressing them would be considered taboo and anyone doing so would be ridiculed
