let's see we went through jelly shoes, jelly and bangle bracelets, bright colored clothing, legwarmers, leggings, skinny jeans, polka dots, big hair (not as bad as the 80s though), off-the-shoulder sweaters, headbands, ballet flats, and wide belts around tops in a 4-year period. as strange as it seems we're still not through with the 80s just yet. i most certainly think that the worst fashions from the era is yet to come before the decade is over. anyhow i am giving the '80s look at least one more year before pop princess and boy band fashions come back from the late '90s.

Hahaha, I hope boy bands never come back! I think out of all the fashion decades the 80s was the most fun. It's great/horrible to see all the crazy stuff again, at least it's toned down a little. I think it will last another year or two then we will go on to another wacky trend, some things never change!

I was dreading this moment. The retro-70s look that lasted from 1995 (post-grunge) to about 2002 was awful enough, but the 80s??? The 80s were the most narcissistic, vain, shallow, self-important years ever. At least in the 70s we still had love and rock and roll. There was at least some element of the "we" and "us". In the 80s it was all about "me me me". Have you ever noticed how at the end of every 80s teen movie, the entire high school would stand up and applaud- as if the protagonist is so important that even random people get up to rejoice on cue at some stranger's accomplisments? Talk about being self-absorbed. Everything in the 80s seemed monumentally important, and the dress and hair styles complemented this narcissistic psychopathology. I blame Paris Hilton for bringing Nero-proportioned vanity en vogue.

ballet flats will never die, but the baggy assed pants and over grown tshirts and huge chains and big ugly sneakers have to go, also the black leather and punk hair is worn out, dog collars and all.
