Reticulated pythons are recorded accurately at up to 33 feet in length. According to actual documentation they are the longest snake species. They are relatively slender, however, compared to green anacondas and burmese pythons so they can often weigh less.

Green anacondas are rumored to surpass them, however, there is no documented evidence of a green anaconda (there are two types: green and yellow... yellow is much smaller) hitting the mid 20's. However, green anacondas ARE the heaviest snake species.

One of the things people do is display long green anaconda skins that are well over 30 feet, however, they do not point out that after you skin a snake, the skin stretches. If you have ever seen how a snakes skin truly is, you can see how this would occur.

So... reticulated python.

I think the reticulated python may be the longest, from all the nature shows I've seen.
