***If you dont know what peyote is dont answer this question.
---------------------
According to wikipedia: "United States federal law (and many state laws) protect the harvest, possession and consumption (but not cultivation) of peyote as part of "bonafide religious ceremonies" (the federal regulation is 42 USC §1996a, "Traditional Indian religious use of the peyote sacrament," exempting only Native American use, while most state laws exempt any general "bonafide religious activity"

So assuming i want to do a "bonafide religious activity", where can i buy peyote legally.

Peyote (lophophora williamsii) is Schedule I in the United States. This means it is illegal to manufacture, buy, possess, or distribute (sell, trade or give) without a DEA license.

The CSA states:
(22) Peyote Meaning all parts of the plant presently classified botanically as Lophophora williamsii Lemaire, whether growing or not, the seeds thereof, any extract from any part of such plant, and every compound, manufacture, salts, derivative, mixture, or preparation of such plant, its seeds or extracts (Interprets 21 USC 812(c), Schedule I(c) (12))
Federal Native American Church Exemption
TITLE 21-Food And Drugs
Administration, Department of Justice
PART 1307--MISCELLANEOUS--Table of Contents

Sec. 1307.31 Native American Church.

The listing of peyote as a controlled substance in Schedule I does not apply to the nondrug use of peyote in bona fide religious ceremonies of the Native American Church, and members of the Native American Church so using peyote are exempt from registration. Any person who manufactures peyote for or distributes peyote to the Native American Church, however, is required to obtain registration annually and to comply with all other requirements of law.

Seeing as that the only way you can legally use Peyote is in a religous ceremony, you'll have to find it at one of these ceremonies. THAT'S IT. You won't find a store selling Peyote for cultural purposes, tradiionally users of peyote are exclusive memebrs of the Native American community, thus: if your trying to find peyote for a religious use, where you can purchas it legally, you won't find it. Case Closed.

Try visiting an Indian reservation. I've met some really crazy Indians in South Dakota who love to drink and smoke and party and cause trouble. Basically, your typical party animal. I never asked about peyote, but maybe you could. They were very fun, gracious, and giving. We had a blast.

If you were truly going to do a "bonafide religious activity" you wouldn't have to ask where to get it. Case closed.
