Nope, but what I don't understand is why he is only eating 3.5 ounces every two hours instead of more less often.

babies are never put on diets. If he wants to eat then let him. If it's too much food you;ll know because he'd spit it back up. At 8 weeks of age you should be seeing the pediatrician soon for his 2 month well visit and shots, make sure you mention this to the doctor, they'll be charting his weight anyways so if the doc sees a problem he'd mention it.

on average a baby will eat 2.5oz per pound that they weigh. so divide that by the number of feedings that you are giving him. and you will probably come pretty close to what he is eating. of course it can be off a few ounces in either direction but this is a good guide.

Over consumption is a non-issue in children under 2. Your baby at this point is living on survival instinct and will only take what he needs. Absolutely, positively NEVER restrict food intake in an infant.

no a baby will rearly over eat. if your worried change one of the feeds for cooled boilded water, he may just want a drink. If he doesnt he wont settle and then you can give him his milk again... it may also help spread his feeds further apart giving you a bit more of a break...

good luck!

If he is hungry let him eat, babies are smart he knows when he is hungry. Would you want someone to tell you when you could eat? He sounds like a healthy baby, just enjoy him!

No, it is officially impossible for your baby to over eat. Baby's regulate their own intake of food. So whether your baby is bottle fed or breast fed they will only take what they need.

That's perfectly normal !
My son weighs the same. Your baby is exceptionally healthy, especially for being so small ! < you didn't say if he was a preemie>
