Yes, because many students don't learn this at home, which is where they should be learning it. Also, it shows students how to apply their math and reading skills to practical situations. In the state I live in there is a health and nutrition education requirement; it sounds like this course could fulfill that too. Besides it should be easy, and you'll probably get a good grade to pump up the average. Have fun!!

Yes! And they should be taught how to use the food that they buy and then check out how much it costs to buy diapers and formua. I wish I would have learned this at a younger age. Home Ec was good but didn't really go far enough.
