Its not a square root its a cube root.
Square root of 25 is 5, i.e.5x5=25
Cube root of 125 is also 5, i.e.5x5x5=125

OK don't worry about it its not a hard concept once you get it. the three is a reverse cube power. Thats confusing I know but I don't have a better word.
You'll need this stuff a lot in algebra and if you're there you know what I'm talking about.
EX:
5^3=125
cube(3) root of 125 = 5
(this can also be expressed)
125 / 5 / 5= 5
same thing continues on:
5^4=625
4th root of 625 = 5
or
625/5/5/5=5
ect.
ect.
ect.
If you still don't get it e-mail me at brmd_sloop@yahoo.com

a square root is a number that when multiplied by itself will give the original number so the square root of 25 is 5 because 5 X 5 is 25. when there is a 3 in front it is a cube root, so that the number is multiplied by itself then by itself again. the cube root of 125 is 5 because 5 X 5 X 5 is 125.

Simple. It means that instead of the square root, you're taking the cube root. The cube root is which number you take to the 3rd power to get the number under the radical, much like the square root is which number you take to the 2nd power to get the number under the radical. Also remember that the cubic root of x is equal to x^(1/3), and the square root of x is equal to x^(1/2), and so on.
The answer to your equation is 5, since 5*5*5=125, and 5*5*5=5^3, or 5 cubed.

if u see a 3 written in the "v" shaped cavity of a root then it implies dat its no longer a square root!!rather its a cube root!!!
for instance if square root of 25=5(since 5*5=25) then cube root of 125=5(since 5*5*5=125)!!
ie. v search for a factor of 125,which when multiplied to itself thrice wud give the result as 125!!!
similarly if the cavity contains 4 then v find the fourth root.eg. fourth root of 16=2(2*2*2*2=16)!!! & so on!!!no numeral in cavity is taken as a sign for square root by default!!!!!!!

it simply means cube root of125
, ok, take it easy, well the answer would be 5.
5*5*5=125
maybe they meant cube root of125.
well for certain circumstances let's say,3square root of 25 would make sense as square root of 25 is 5. Whereas square root of 125 is not a whole number.So,3square root of 25=3 multiply by 5=15,3multiply by square root of 125 is not a whole number. ok.
