Prove, justify or excuse?

How about just releasing the need to hide?

How about returning the anxiety over my homosexuality to its real owners, the ones who are freaked out (to whatever degree) by my existence in the world?

How about being able to live an open life with the man I love, like every other normal human being on the planet?

How about refusing to be treated as a second class citizen by those who are privileged by society?

There is nothing to prove, justify or excuse in coming out. It is, instead, up to those who are made uncomfortable in our presence to prove, justify and excuse their motivation for trying to conceal us in a closet.

It's not trying to prove justify or excuse, its just looking for support. Support from our friends and family that we are looking for.

I think a better question would have been:
"Why do you have to prove, justify or excuse 'coming out'?
----you don't, of course.

I think it's more about wanting to share who you really are, instead of feeling the need to hide. Mostly I want to "come out" to the people that I care about, just like I want to tell them other things about my life. You know, if you're not out, it's not just that you can't talk about who you have sex with. You can't even talk about who you have crushes on, what dreams you have for your life, etc. And people always have questions about why you're not dating the opposite sex, trying to fix you up with people, etc. I think it's more about honesty than trying to "justify" anything. Just my opinion

I guess it would be the equivalent of "being born again", like the born again Christians. They have a new found love of life and, who doesn't want to end the burden of keeping a secret?

I'm not gay or nothing, but I think that are proving that they are not ashamed anymore, they don't have anything to hide ,and they don't care what anybody thinks anymore.

Just recognition to the world that this is who they are, and they will no longer pretend to be something, or someone, they are not.

I don't comprehend "coming out". What bearing does your sexuality have upon my life. If you like to have sex with cabbage, why should i know about it? Why march in the streets with posters that say "Cabbage Love" on them? It's mentally ill to need that kind of affirmation.

I am a male who loves to have sex with women, but i have never felt the need to parade down the street shouting it or make the public education system force children to swallow their vomit while i brainwash them to think it's "right". Children should not be subjected to sexuality until they are ready to explore it themselves.

Gays seem to have some kind of sick agenda which i cannot comprehend. I hate it and oppose it and i can't get a straight answer as to why they have to show me what they're doing in their bedrooms to feel ok with themselves.
