Brokeback Mountain was a good movie. And you know what? If it had been exactly the same movie in every way except it was about one man and one woman, people who have used your question as a place to advertize their fears and idiot parrot mimicking "Raaawk! I hurd it wuz 2 gay, like oh my gosh! Raaawk!" would have liked it.
Anyway, the movie is about the fact that people need to connect, sometimes in circumstances that aren't perfect. These two people found comfort in each other because they lived day after day alone. We've all accepted that guys do it when they're in jail. It's not all about just sticking it in - they're lonely. It's about missing the company of whoever was in your life on the outside. In the same way, the two characters in the movie go back to their wives and live normal lives afterwards. Furthermore!!! (hee hee! just making fun of my own seriousness) you find later in the movie that one of them, Jake's character, is less able to just move on. The movie is about regret and nostalgia and about how our lives end up being different than we may plan them. How many people find themselves married and years later still think about what could have been if....this, or if.....that?

The story line from Brokeback was okay. I happen to have two best friends that are gay. I think it is ashame though that it had to end the way it did. No I wont tell you because if you dont know you should see it I dont want to ruin it for you. I thought it would be really bad but they didnt show anything. The whole movie just shows the emotional bond that can grow between men and yet they can still have a life outside of the secrets they carried. Hope this is what you were looking for

I thought that "Brokeback Mountain" was one of the sexiest movies ever made. Forget the fact that they were two guys. It was a wonderful love story. The setting was awesome---the mountains were the perfect backdrop for a forbidden romance. The fact that Heath Ledger's character's wife knew about the whole thing added to the ideals of the time---the wife sticks by the husband's side no matter what. The ending where Heath's character finds out that his lover was killed puts all kinds of "what ifs" into your mind. They claim he was struck by a flying rim after a car accident. But Heath still has it in his head about the "gay bashers" who have murdered in the past. I thought the movie was well written, bravely acted out, and highly arousing. I loved the movie and I very much recommend it. I watched it with my husband. His friends made fun of him for it and I believe them to be absolute fools. It is an epic love story. I give it seven and a half stars.

Some memories cannot be forgotten, for they are rich with such a passion, such a love, are so deeply ingrained in the soul, that neither time, or space can fade them. In those moments of remembrance, all becomes clearer, crisper.
This is a story about love against all odds. It is a reminder that the love we feel cannot be contained, or controlled by any outside force. It is a story about accepting who you are, while not understanding why.
There is a lesson to be learned in the relationship between the men; they were both living a lie. One was killed when his true nature was revealed, while the other was slowly dying inside, trying to suffocate his true nature all along, losing everything he had.
