They make some of the investigators too super-human, like being able to see an extremely tiny drop of blood on a blade of grass while they are standing up. Also making them so incredibly smart in every single field, like "They found marakamethadamine in his digestive tract? Marakamethadamine is only found in the sub-Saharan oil fields. So that must mean they combined it with zumagathorine, which is lead commonly found in cheap pencil lead". I mean no one knows all that stuff.
Also they conveniently cut out all the paper-work and courtroom stuff. Can you imagine how much time those guys spend in the courtroom? Probably as much time in the courtroom as in the lab. Also they tend to catch every criminal, which I think is far from the truth.

The concepts are real. But, it takes much more than 60 seconds to track a DNA sample. It takes days, or even weeks or months. Also, being a CSI, you cannot go into a crime scene without a mask, "shoes", etc., keeping your hair down (no net), lest you contaminate the crime scene.
Nobody is that perfect looking either. They're usually tired, worn & beat from working too many hours, and not enough manpower to cover the whole thing.
These are the things that aren't real. It's a show. The scenario is real, not the times, not the agents, etc.
I love the shows anyway........

its a t.v. show so they exaggerate some things and of course they have to make it more appealing than real life. but the concept comes from real life and how being a CSI is like. all in all its still a t.v. show and i love it!

I think that mostly all the show could be real, but some are not! Even though some might not be real somebody is capable of doing anything. I think that all of it seems so real, I love it!

My guess is 20% real, 80% fake and made up stories.

most all of the concepts are real. Just not in real time and they are often presented much more glamerous than in real life. You cannot test forensics in labs that are dark and only lit with black backlighting........ Know what I mean? Much of this is real - even if we aren't using it in our departments as of yet. The technology exists.......

even the so-called 'reality tv show' is fake.
csi is an ordinary tv show.
but i guess, all those medical terms etc is correct.
