At night? No contest, definitely a bath!!!!!! Perhaps a tiny slip of wine...then a touch of moisturizer. Sweet dreams!
If you must, shower in the morning.

You could do both, have a nice bath and then a great rinse off shower and shampoo the hair and rinse good again...

Have a bath then wash your dog in the water when you've finished, then bucket it out on the garden. We all have to do our bit for the environment, and your dog stinks.
