I respect the level of thought put into this show and how the characters grow somewhat, but it seems like there's no main conflict in the storyline. Some episodes just seem dull and boring since the animation is bad. The action scenes look pathetic. The last part of the series was interesting though......Anybody have any thoughts about berserk?

I am a fan of berserk. In the manga, the actions and battles are more detailed. When you just read the first chapter, you feel really into it. In the episodes, alot of parts have been cut because more nudity, sexual content, and violence are involved. I remember the first episode is where guts walks in a village whatever...in the manga, the first page of volume one is guts having something with a lady. Soo the anime is like the rated version that are kind of suitable for everyone. If you have the chance to read the manga, you'll see why Guts hates to be touched, what happens to Caska after the eclipse and other important characters that didn't appear in the anime. We also have to face that the manga has begun since 1983 or 1986...soo it's kind of old..but the manga is still ongoing currently in volume 32 i believe.

i think the story is F'ed up! the problem with Berserk is that the story gives you a sample of how this are currently, and then goes on an extended flashback that builds up the characters and makes you feel for them before they REALLY get into the story and a truly evil antagonist. the Manga goes into greater detail and continues telling the story (yeah, the story is still ongoing in japan), the Anime only goes so far as to the beginning of the end of the flashback.

if you get a chance, check out the Manga so you can see how truely gruesome Griffiths betrayal is.
