tigers
red sox
angels.
giants
cards
mets.
i i like the phillies in some respects because they have a nice young team..but most of last year's success was due to howards AMAZING second half (where he hit a disgusting 354 down the stretch) lets me serious-that won't happen again-the phil's biggest problem is THEY HAVE NO PITCHING but lucky for them-neither do the mets or atlanta-the marlins do-and might surprise a lot of people (this is a contract year for cabrerra) but they lack a true lineup hitters lineup. they don't go deep either.
the yanks did nothing in the off season but trade away players they need to compete with-a rod and jeter are great-but both can't carry a team and they've proven that (and I'M A BIG JETER FAN) toronto is strong-but in a division and with teams willing to out spend them-forget about them making the playoffs-their team isn't good enough (but watch out for reed johnson once the jay's trade Rios who,by the way,is a star in the making.
the chi sox aren't very deep in the pitching staff-garland isn't getting it done (was he ever?) and burhle had tough year (showing his age?) other than that..who's there? dye isn't gonna carry them and they as well-don't go very deep. oakland lost to much to even consider another run-but the addition of piazza as FULL TIME DH will be big for them-he can still hit-but they have holes to fill in the outfield-let alone their pitching staff-and keeping crosby healthy. swisher isn't the answer either. texas isn't even worth mentioning til they get out of that stadium and the angels (like all teams) need to pitching...and no jarred weaver isn't the answer-come talk to me when he finishes 33 or 34 starts undefeated-i don't care about 10.
dodgers might have a nice pitching staff-but who's gonna hit for them? nomar isn't the answer unless he can play 140 games (AT LEAST!) i like colorado a looooooooooooot-but like a team that isn't used to winning-it goes and trades away a pretty darn good young pitcher for some junk outfielders and AN EVEN WORSE pitcher. pretty stupid-they need to commit to winning and stop having a different opening day lineup EVERY YEAR. enough with the rookies-develop what you got for once. padres have gotten worse-not better and arizona-well they always have spring training.
houston won't do much even with clemens coming back-but they do have a nice outfield-but really nothing else (lance burkman will win the triple crown one day) the reds aren't serious about winning-they trade and decent players they have or get-for cheaper, weaker players of no value (got their new stadium and simply stopped trying to win...typical) pitt isn't even worth mentioning as well til they ACTUALLY MAKE A MOVE FOR SOME DECENT PLAYERS. the brewers are a pretty good team but they are at least 3 years away from going to the playoffs (if they stay together) their pitching is solid (not great) and their hitting is tough when it wants to be (to inconsistant to make the playoffs)
god i love baseball.
GO GIANTS

Hi...I think the AL Central is going to be the exciting division yet again this year. I think everyone, including the Indians will be even better. Those damn Indians never stay in the basement for long.
I really would like to see the Twins win the Central but I live here and I know how cheap the ownership is. I would love to see Baltimore take the east but like you say there is Boston and the Yanks.
I am not a big NL fan other than the Cubs and the Brewers. I would love to see the Cubs go all the way. I hope this Soriano thing works out for them.

AL East - Yanks - Andy Pettite and Carl Pavano are back
AL Central - Twins - still got Santana
AL West - Angels - just edge As
AL Wild Card - Red Sox - line up is too good even with their aging pitching staff it should carry them in
NL East - Mets - division is weak
NL Central - Astros - thats if Clemens comes back
NL West - Dodgers - I like their young talent
NL Wild Card - Cubs - Soriano is gonna love Wrigly and Derek Lee is gonna love his OBS%

What took you so long - to start talking about baseball, that is. There's no reason not to talk about it all year round. Bonds is simply trying to convince people that he's hurt, to disguise the fact that he can't play without steroids. And of course, he still insists that he's never taken the stuff, despite the fact that he's continuing to let his personal trainer, Greg Anderson, rot in jail for not answering questions. Nice guy - NOT.
