depo sucks! this happend to me to and I bled for 3 weeks straight!!! I would recommend trying a different type of bc. I really liked the patch, and the pill works for most people.

I used Depo Provera injection twice. The first time I had no period and the second time I had them for nearly the whole three months. Not heavy but enough to be annoying. I think either way is normal but check with your doctor if you are worried.

I was on depo for about a year, with only one time that i had light bleeding, though after I got off of it, I bled for a month and a half.(nothing was seriously wrong, but they said that with depo that was natural) allthough, they did tell me that some women have regular cycles anyway. you might want to talk to you gyno about it in case there might be something more serious. there are other, though not as convenient bc, like nuva ring that hasn't been mentioned. (even though that wasnt part of your question : P)

Many women have different responses to this injection. Some bleed like they normally would, others dont bleed at all and some "spot" alot. Talk to your Gp and if your not happy, try something else. I use the implanton and am very happy, no 3 monthly injections, remembering to take pills or fumling for condoms in the heat of the moment, and it lasts for 3 years!

not all women on depo have periods. for some they stop completely. i have periods about 4 times a year. usually right when I am ready for next shot. they are usually very light and almost non-existent. It is one of the odd side effects of the drug.

Because your body has to eventually release and clense. Once you stop bleeding then you wil go approx another 6 mos and it will do it again.
