its quite easy to get hold of messenger passwords as there are many free downloads available to hack ones password.firewall is not helpin.is there any other way to be safe?are there any anti hack kind of s/w ??

Yahoo messenger is very prone to attacks. I have, and suggest that you get, ytunnel. I have been using this software for a couple of years now. Its perfect for chat rooms. Keep in mind that you can use software like this to better protect yourself, you are only decreasing chances of an attack, not eliminating it.

Ignore the Anti-virus programs. Get DeepFreeze or Returnil. These programs stop all changes from being permanent. If a virus infects your system, just restart your computer and its gone.

I think that YM! is a bit impossible (but still possible) to be hacked, just get firewalls, sniffers for your PC.
