Lex was a good guy in the beginning; even when he was doing good, no one but Clark believed him. Then even Clark lost faith, and that's when Lex went bad. Anyone else feel sorry for him?

NO, Lex is evil. I think Lana might die or something and he ends up becoming evil. Or he is just pretending to love Lana. The show wants you to feel sorry for him until they completely make him evil and a bad character, so the viewers know his back story.

In real life Lex Luther is a really nice guy, he just has to play a bad dude on TV.

I think he's probably just been misunderstood. Kind of like the Wicked Witch of the West in the show 'WICKED'.
