i'm in my late 20's and have been single for most of them. this was my most serious boyfriend (only 5 months, but still!) in a few years. he acted like a big jerk, we fought, he hasnt called in a week. i'm always getting hit on, even when i was not available, so i definitely have options...

Take as much (or as little) time off as you're comfortable with. If you feel like dating again, you can start the next day. It's comletely up to you.

You won't look like that honey... .just go out on dates WHENEVER YOU FEEL READY... tell the guys up front that you're seeing other people.... this gives the guys permission to see other people too. And most often keeps permiscuity at bay at least for the first few dates. So, now that you are older... up the game! Date 2 guys at a time. Or 3 if you're comfortable with that.... Do like the boys do.... "One on the way out, one on the way in, and one just for kicks." Let them wine and dine you.... just be up front and honest that they are not the only man courting you right now. Keeps you free. Entering womanhood is a wonderful thing. Be grateful that you haven't settled down yet. Many adventures to come for you!

When your ready! Give some time for you, it will help! It might give you time to do some things you wnat to do. A big mistake I have even made is giving up things you like to do for the relationship. Time single and solo reminds you of things you may have put aside. Remember those things you like to do is a part of you and the time alone may let you see things you want that you are not getting in relationships now. You will learn things about yourself and will be happier!

there is no such standard time frame to which u must strictly adhere.for matters concerning the heart, follow ur heart. From ur 1st experience u must now have the ability to see the world in a different perspective..Move as friends, no harm going on dates, and seek to understand one another before committing seriously.
U wouldnt starve after a bad stomach upset , would you..the same rule applies....

as soon as you figure out what went wrong in the last relationship, depending on age give it a couple of years, live a little single.
