The theory of Karma says that you do. In real life I don't find it to be necessarily true. The best way to not get disappointed is to give from the heart, and enjoy the act of giving, that way it's a reward in itself and you're not disappointed if nothing comes back.

If you are prepare to give, Don't expect get anything in return.
If are expecting something in return, then you are not that kind after all. Leave it to your karma!Someone with a kind heart will be paid off in one way or another?!But for sure you feel happier after giving someone your help?

Not always, but that is okay, I still keep on giving in one way or another, is not for me to judge, just to do as I do and feel good about what it is that I do.
