My school says they can't afford to buy an LCD projector for me to use. Is there any way to cable the laptop to the TV in the room so the students can see the Websites. Thank you.

Depends on the type of interfaces your laptop has. Normally they will have a VGA out with Yellow colored plug. You will need to buy corresponding cable.

Then you can change the display mode by going to 'settings' after right clicking on the desktop.
