"Spirituality" is a word. It can be used three ways. First, it relates to theories people have about what happens to "soul" after death, ghosts, angels, demons, etc.

Second, it can signify our relationship to the God, etc, our worship, our religious beliefs.

Third, it can refer to our reverence to life itself and all living things, including the planet, the cosmos and all things natural.

In the first two meanings, it all depends on what you decide to believe in. In the third meaning, it has to do with how you view external reality. You can have a rich spiritual life being connected with the world itself...its wonders, its mysteries, its beauty.

as cited - Spirituality, in a narrow sense, concerns itself with matters of the spirit. The spiritual, involving (as it may) perceived eternal verities regarding humankind's ultimate nature, often contrasts with the temporal, with the material, or with the worldly. A sense of connection forms a central defining characteristic of spirituality — connection to something greater than oneself, which includes an emotional experience of religious awe and reverence. Equally importantly, spirituality relates to matters of sanity and of psychological health.
