Sick and tired of it. Along with the Congressional Black caucus, Affirmative action, food stamps, public housing, the $200,000,000.00 Bush gave to them in Atlanta the other year to pay down payments and closing cost for them on home purchases, points added to their applications, reparations, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Travis Smilley, showing Blacks in TV commercials in a suit and tie while the white person is shown as an idiot or dumbass, IBM, Allstate insurance, Microsoft, phone companies like Altell and Sprint etc., etc., the NBA, the NFL, college sports(let's get the number of white players to be representative of actual population statistics) AND the WHITE American taxpayer for not banding together like the blacks and mexicans and protesting all this Damn Niggerism that is rotting our country from the inside out.

There was a time when whites taught Blacks that they were first running around naked in the jungle with Tarzan and then they became human chattel or slaves..that was it.
They had accomplished nor created nothing.
Why they barely had brains.
Yes, I am old enough to remember.
Then Carter G Woodson decided he would create a week to remind American Blacks that they had a history that was not being taught in school.
At some point it was lengthened to a month.
So, if you feel sick of Black history for what it is 28 days, think of attending school for 12 years and being taught by whites that your people were totally unaccomplished?
Complain to your teachers, organize a demonstration..20 days of hearing about "others" is sickening!
p.s What school do you attend where Blacks are worshiped?

Well, I'm sorry that you don't like to learn the accomplishments of Black people when otherwise you would never take the time to learn yourself. Black people were and still are suppressed today by white people. It's just that today is more subtle. Like people on yahoo answers complaining about the strides Black people have made.

You come across pretty harsh, but I know what you mean. I'm tired of the divisions:
Recently, a white senator from a black district was refused entry into the black caucus on the basis of his skin color. What would happen if Washington even thought about forming a white caucus, much less refusing entry to blacks?
Why is there a Black Entertainment Channel, but a white entertainment channel would be sued so fast it wouldn't get more than 10 minutes of airtime?
Why is there black history month, but the creation of white history month would be racist and viewed as undermining the efforts of civil rights?
Why do we refer to each other as African American, or Mexican American instead of just simply being Americans? I'm not a White American, or a European American... I'm just me. American. I wouldn't want to be referred to by the color of my skin!
And why do people insist on focusing on our differences and forcing race to be an ongoing issue in our society, rather than just simply focusing on who we are as a people? It only further divides us. I thought we had ended segregation.... but I guess it's ok now if minorities choose to segregate white people out. Don't minorities see that with these divisions and labels, they damage our culture rather than promoting what they want the most?

No, you're not the only one sick of black history month. If you've been around for 2 seconds on yahoo answers, you'd know that.
Women's History Month is in March, Hispanic Heritage Month is in September, Native American Heritage Month is in November, and Asian/Pacific Islander Month is in May. Shall I continue?

I agree. It has nothing to do with racism either...for me at least. But I sure don't see a white history month. Or how about a caveman history month. Seriously...we celebrate presidents, we celebrate when America was discovered. Why don't we just declare all days a national holiday. Maybe we should ban our children learning these stupid things...I mean seriously we have seperation of church and state why not seperate them from any other idols that teach very little about today and what is right and wrong.
The other thing that gets me is it all has to do with the fact that they are black. They think that because our ansestors treated them like crap we all somehow owe them something. I do apologize, but I do not feel this way...today if you want something you have to earn it...regardless of your color. What gets me is how they are considered minorities...there is so much difference in skin colors in the states these days but only the white man suffers due to his color...he looses his chance for a job because someone equally qualified for the job and the company has a quota to meet for minorities. I am sorry but just as they refuse to pay for their color back then... I refuse to pay for my ancestors mistakes now. But that's ok everything is short lived...

Then take your white @ss and go live somewhere were all you see is white faces, like Siberia. Or better yet go to Antarctica where all you see is white polar bears and white snow. YOU are the reason for black history month, THINK ABOUT IT.

Wow! What a question . I don't think your racist i just think your ignorant. Do you even know the rationale behind black history month ? "the aim of Black History Month is to expose the harms of racial prejudice and to cultivate black self-esteem following centuries of socio-economic oppression" Black history month was created to essentially commemorate the struggle that the ***** race has faced throughout history (slavery, segregation , lynched ,treated as though they weren't human etc.)

I wonder if South Africa, which has a 10% White minority, has a "White History Month?"
"here was a time when whites taught Blacks that they were first running around naked in the jungle with Tarzan..."
That's actually what they were doing in South Africa when the Dutch arrived in the 1600s whether you think it's legitimate or not.

Yeah, there's no "White History Month"... We should at least have the other races. I think they have Hispanics covered, but Indians? Asians? Eskimos? Sioux History Month. Oh yeah. Rolls off the tongue.
