Now, Developmental psychology, if I remember, is related the the aging process from birth on. Is that right? Would that not mean that depression would happen with aging? If that is so, the answer is "yes." From conception, the development of the baby has much to do with the amount of nurturing that he/she is given. If a baby/child/adult, is deprived of nurturing, the development of the individual will be slower as the physical growth. Love, attention, hugging, all that goes along with love is how the individual grows and is dependent on the outcome of their life. Depression will set in as the infant grows. There is just no way that depression cannot happen when developing psychologically.
