Plan on swelling so take some ibuprofen an hour before you go to get it done and afterwards, use it as directed. Clean it regularly, and do regular sea salt soaks.

I know you aren't asking for input on whether or not you should get the piercing but expect lots of answers telling you not to because it looks bad. I've had 13 piercings, half of them on my face and you would never have known looking at me today. So don't let them bring you down. :) Good luck!

ah..good choice..i've got a monroe piercing (like where marilyn monroe had the beauty mark)..it's really cute if all goes well..research it a little bit..i know mine hurt like hell..but your lower lip on the ride shouldnt hurt TOO bad cuz there's not alot of flesh down there..just be ready because it'll probably hurt like hell..clean it on a regular basis..like twice a day once you get it..and BRUSH like 4 times a day..after every meal..get a non-alcohol based mouthwash..like crest pro health..it worked great with the monroe and my tongue piercing..it heals up pretty quick if you take care of it,dont worry too much about your teeth decaying out of your head..i've had the monroe for awhile and my gums are in perfect shape, i've had my tongue piercing for nearly 2yrs and i haven't had any problems whatsoever..well good luck..and RESEARCH!!

know that piercings of the mouth can wreak havoc on your teeth that come in contact with the jewelry. I knew somebody who had oral piercings, including tongue, and within 2 years, his teeth had really started crumbling apart.

You should know...its unattractive. You will have a hole in your face, long after this 'phase' has passed. Just cut your hair or wear freaky makeup....things that dont alter your apperance for life.

you shoudl know that, as much as it sucks, people will judge you. youwill be treated in the way you portray yourself. if you want teachers and other adults thinking less of you...go for it! otherwise...rethink this.

i suggest you give it two months. if you still want it then...well...do what you gotta do.
