I trust easily in most cases - though I have found people that I distrust instantly. I remember one day I was supposed to drop off a clean white shirt for my sister at the movie theater where she worked. I couldn't find a parking spot, but I did see a guy in the black and white dress of a server or movie employee and I asked him to drop it off at the theater for me. He thought it was strange, but I was running late and I really needed the help.
Later that day I called my sister, only to find that the shirt did not get delivered. I was so surprised and my friends told me that I had been foolish. It just so happened that there were 2 theaters on that block and on a hunch I called the second theater and they said yes, some guy came in wanting to give a shirt to someone there, but no one knew the name, so they sent him on his way. While it was a shame that the shirt got lost, I felt vindicated in my trust for that guy - and I would do it again (only with clearer instructions!)
Peace!
PS - ah yes, the "I don't trust so I don't get hurt" line. My mother is that way - boy is she surprised when I tell her that there is much to be gained by trusting the Universe and our fellow man. She simply can not compute. I think that is tragic.

I don't. I meet very few people I feel I can trust. Out of all the people that I know I trust 3.

Pretty easy. Maybe less than I used to.
We can do so much more when we think we can rely on others and that most people want to do good. There are groups like at Church in which I feel more trusting.
