She has a good chance of winning the slam as she is very experienced and crafty on the court. But she has to take the practices seriously and avoid the exodus from tennis which she takes when she is peaking.

This is the thing: Martina Hingis is basically in the same position she was in when she left the tour. No one is saying this really. She can win smaller tournaments, she can go deep into the majors but ultimately, she succumbs to those power hitters who still hit her off of the court.
I think that her style and cute little shots are really nice to see but I will take the power and precision shots of a Sharpova or Williams sister any day.
This is the same thing that drove her from the game. If she is here just for the competition and winning smaller tournaments, then she will be around for the next two or three years. However, if she actually wants to win the Majors, she must add more pop to her first and second serves and her groundstrokes. This is a point that even the most staunch Hingis supporter must acknowledge.
All that being said, I think that her best chance to win a Slam is at the French. Her problem there may be that it plays a lot faster than it did years ago.
I will give her about a 10% chance of winning another major overall.

Martina Hingis has no chance of winning a Grand Slam with Serena back and playing strong, and Venus looming.
It's simply not a very positive looking field for her:
1. Justine Henin-Hardenne is now divorced and will be back by the French to take her wrath for her ex-husband out on the rest of the women of the WTA tour.
2. Maria Sharapova has got something to prove after getting her *** waxed by Serena at the Autstralian. So while Maria is gunning for Serena, everything in her game is going to get tighter which will make even tougher for the other women, like Martina Hingis, who try to get past her.
3. Kim Clijsters is on her last year, so she's going to be doing her best to pull in an additional Grand Slam as her kind og going away act. She won't get a Grand Slam title, but she's strong enough to take out Hingis every time.
4. Serena of course is a serious problem. Her game is of course wishy washy, but not when she's playing Martina Hingis, who she still regards as her oldtime rival.
5. Venus. She's probably gearing up for another Wimbledon run this year. Venus in even decent form is a showstopper for Hingis.
Martina should think about 2008 when Kim Clijsters is retired, and maybe when one of the Williams' and maybe Henin-Hardenne is injured again or loses interest. She'll have a better chance then.

Hingis has a good chance, but I think that the top players like Clijsters, Henin, Serena, Sharapova, Schnyder, Mauresmo, Petrova, Vaidisova, Jankovic, and maybe Kusnetsova will be too good for her. However one should never rule out such a great champion with so much experience and guile.

I think it depends on the situation, if Sharapova, Henin, and Mauresmo all lsoe before the final, then I guess Hingis has a chance. If not, then I highly doubt it. And now that Serena is(hopefully) back to her old self, Hingis' lack of power will be further exploited.

like some have already said,it depends on the top players. so far, since coming back, she hasn't had great performances against the upper echelon....those above her in the rankings. particularly, Sharapova,Henin(as it is now)and Mauresmo. if one has a bad day, perhaps,it's really the only way i can see her win those kinds of matches. as against Kim at AusOpen, she had alot of oppurtunities and Kim just stepped it up at the end. but taking a Grand Slam trophy....might be a bit far fetched at this juncture.

Zero. Statistically speaking, Hingis has a probability of winning. It is 0.

there is always a chance for martina. experience wise in the tennis arena she has it. no doubt that there are a lot of girls in the tennis world that has the power with their serve. but martina plays so clever in the court that always keep them wondering what to with those shots.
