oh hell no.. i think that some of these show actually have a disclaimer in the credits saying that (i remember seeing it). The only ones i believe depict reality are crime movies that are based on true life events.. even then though 'based on events' is a very broad term these days.. its all part of entertainment

No

William Petersen of CSI was quoted at one point as saying that if people wanted accuracy, etc then to turn on Discovery Channel. Because they (CSI, et al) are about entertainment with a bit of science thrown in.

The CSI shows on Discovery say that it is impossible to track down a criminal in 40mins' time since even with high tech equipment, alot of cases go unsolved for years on end.

Not really, especially around the forensics.

My brother, who is a criminal defense attorney, says that juries are beginning to suffer from what he calls "CSI syndrome." They expect both prosecution and defense to be able to come up with unrefutable evidence (either of innocence or guilt) based on some highly technological test.

Nope, some cops don't ever fire their weapon yet on these shows some one dies every next scene. Ever see real car chases, not a lot of friut vendors getting in way.....or exploding building every 2 blocks.
