Does anyone with peri or menopausal hot flushes have symptoms which last all day long?
What have you done to help with hot flushes and nausea?

This is for my mum so we will be grateful for any advice on how to treat or help this.

****Please note that HRT medication is not an option for her.
Thankyou :)

There is a one time shot that they can give for hot flashes, it may take 2 shots. I know that these work very well to control hot flashes. My aunt had them real bad, and told her doctor and insisted upon the shot. Usually one shot does it, it will help a lot!

hot flashes are a b***ch!!! I had to sleep with towell under my body, carry a japenese folding paper fan when I had mine. I changed my clothes and pj's at least 3-4 times like every 1/2 hour in the worst of it!!

Avoid spicey food.
DO ADD SOY MILK OR SOY TO YOUR DIET!
Take B vitimans.
there are some other natural remedies.

But do call the Doctor and stress how bad they are, and inquire about the shot, and see if she is a good candidate for it, and insist that she try it!! it really helped my Aunt, she was going mad with hot flashes.

Some women have them for 1 year, some for 5. So do get to the doctor.

Alternatives for Treating Hot Flashes In A Glance
Each woman experiences menopause differently. Generally, the symptoms of menopause can be divided into early (in the process of menopause) and late symptoms. Treatment is directed toward the particular symptoms that are present.
Hot flashes are experienced by many but not all women undergoing menopause. A hot flash is a feeling of warmth, sometimes associated with flushing, that spreads over the body and may be accompanied by perspiration.
Often it is not simple to determine if a given symptom is due to menopause. A physician should be consulted regarding symptoms that are new or of unknown cause.
While "natural" menopause remedies may be effective, there is a lack of research on the safety and effectiveness of many of these remedies. Side effects of prescription remedies are generally better understood than those of over-the-counter medications and "natural" remedies.
Soy contains estrogen, therefore, if a woman is supplementing her diet with soy, she must keep in mind that soy has estrogen (hormones) in the product.
As new research develops regarding medications for menopause symptoms, a physician will be a good resource to help judge the quality of the research, and decide if it may be a product worth trying based on the woman's health history.
There is a large variety of estrogen types, brands, and doses for treatment of menopause symptoms, in addition to other non-hormone medications that can help alleviate menopause symptoms.

Peri-menopause warning signs come any time after 40 and have no longer something to do alongside with your cycle. the optimum warning signs are warm flashes, night sweats, temper swings, and vaginal dryness. you've got those warning signs on a daily basis no longer in basic terms in the previous your era. i think of you're puzzling peri-menopause with premenstrual warning signs. the premenstrual syndrome warning signs are available the previous your era.

Have her ask her doctor about taking a 1000mg Evening Primrose Oil softgel once a day. A nurse practitioner recommended it to me for hot flashes, and it really does help.
