Research, research, research. Ask questions, see several doctors. Check up on the history of every doctor before allowing them to do surgery. Ask around about a doctor you're interested in, to find out his success rate. Word of mouth can be a powerful tool as well.
Don't allow just anyone to have control of your future. Not all doctors are good doctors.
Best of luck!

You should ask a few people who did their hip replacements. Also, numbers do matter. Some surgeons do one or two hips a year, and do other things as well....bad news.....find a surgeon who spends at least two days a week in the operating room, doing nothing but total joint replacements!!!!!!!Some of the best orthopods that I've worked with do 7-15 hips or knees a week or more. Practice does make perfect!!!Also, a hip replacement takes about an hour with a good surgeon....you have to add 1/2 hour on either side for positioning, prep, wake-up etc. BUT if he says that it takes 3-4 hours just for the procedure....keep looking!!!!! Average bloodloss est 200 cc...hips bleed but it is controlled by a good surgeon.
