Well, Scorbore, it's apparent that YOU can't even answer the simplest question then. Typical con response.

Yes, cons are anti-intellectual. Anyone who gets their information from FOX is definitely in that catagory.

Laws for the liberal education of youth, especially for the lower classes of people, are so extremely wise and useful that to a humane and generous mind, no expense for this purpose would be thought extravagant. - John Adams

First that statement your trying to pose as a question (quite badly too) in itself is totally without any backing or evidence. Just your personal bias.
Second The lies you talk about were also spoken by Clinton, Gore, Kerry, France, Spain, Britain, Italy, Germany, Israel, and the UN to mention a few. How about we try ALL of them for treason, not just the ones you dislike.
Third your assumption that anyone that watches Fox news is anti-intellectual. Fox puts on people from both sides of the political fence on most of their shows to provoke political debate. Something intellectuals should appreciate, and something the other networks news shows will not do. Not to mention Fox has more viewers than all of the other cable news put together. That is a lot of anti-intellectual people! Unless your an example of an a intellectual

If Bush and Cheney lied, then Clinton must have lied when he talked about Iraqi WMDs.
I'm not sure what you mean by anti-intellectual. This argument about the State vs the Individual has been going on for almost 2500 years. Plato would probably be a Liberal, Aristotle would probably be a Conservative. Rousseau would definitely be a Liberal, Voltaire would be a Conservative. W.E.B. Dubois - Liberal, Booker T. Washington - Conservative. Karl Marx - Liberal, Adam Smith - Conservative. Fourier - Liberal, Edmund Burke - Conservative. And on and on.
Actually, I think it is anti-intellectual for you to dismiss the tradition of Smith, Burke and Voltaire simply because you disagree with it. I find this on both sides of the aisle and it makes me sick. There are plenty of rabble-rousing, conservative neanderthals but don't try to con me into believing that Michael Moore or Barbra Streisand should be teaching graduate courses on political theory.
As for Fox News. It is the only place that I have found commentary where it isn't ALL just animated meat-suits chanting talking-points mantras. Unfortunately, though, 90% of them are the same drivel you get on other networks. If you want to see fantastic liberal commentary, tune into Fox whenever they have Juan Williams. He is his own man and the ideas he articulates are his own, not the DNC's.
If you want to read some American conservatives who will challenge your prejudices, then you should check-out the books and columns of Thomas Sowell. Also, I would recommend U.S. Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX). He has weekly articles and speeches posted on his website. You would probably appreciated the column titled "NEO-CONNED!"
I would never dream of stereotyping the left's arguments only by listening to their most obviously idiotic members, and you shouldn't do the same with conservatives. If you don't check-out (say) Sowell and Paul, then it is YOU who are being anti-intellectual.

Thank heavens not *all* American conservatives are anti-intellectual... but I'm surprised that many of them are. Trenchcoat may have a point, in that it is easier to control the poor people who you want to continue working unquestioningly for you if they don't get too smart. There's also the fact that a lot of people with college educations are increasingly liberal, and so conservatives fear that instead of it having something to do with what they learned, the colleges are brainwashing students. As for "afraid of the truth," nobody wants to see their heroes' clay feet, just as I wish Clinton hadn't perjured himself (but at least I'll admit he did). I'm curious to see what else comes out about Cheney in the Scooter Libby trials. Bush's "crimes" are more vague, but I hope we can at least reverse some of his attacks on the Constitution with that awful so-called Patriot Act.

Why is it that the left, who always want to appear extremely intellectual, can't even comprehend the definition of the word lie? If the left was really so intellectual, why did they run a presidential candidate in 2004 that had a grade point average that was worse than the man they think is an idiot?
I love the pseudo-intellectual left. Their narcissism is always good for a laugh.

Intellectual? Such bright lights as the Dixie 'hey, where'd our fans go?' Chicks? Noam 'Communism never hurt anybody' Chomsky? Al 'the personality' Franken? Ted 'the swimmer' Kennedy? Hugo 'we go they go' Chavez?
Who should we look to as the left's champion of the faith?
Afraid of the truth? Conservatives are notorious for their relative inability to 'stand by their man' when they are caught in any sticky situation.
Trent Lott lets out an off the cuff plaudit for Stom Thurmond - nope, racist, you're out.
Scooter Libby can't seem to tell the same story three years and 60 retellings apart - nope, loose lips, you're out.
Newt Gingrich can't seem to do anything the media approve of - nope, you're a neanderthal, you're out.
Liberals can forgive anything. Corruption. Rape. Drug abuse. Womanizing. Booze...anything,...Just as long as you keep legal a woman's right to suck her baby into a sink any time before natural delivery, you're just fine...here's your Senate committee chairmanship. What? You said that Barack Obama is a 'clean black guy?' oh...that one's tough...with some public humiliation - you can have your Senate seat, but don't push it. As long as you aren't for those awful conservative rich folks, you're for those enlightened socialist rich folks, you're our guy..here, have another cheerleader - it's on the house!
All politicians are cons. As in con men.

Republicans are anti intellectual??
Tell me their crimes, and if they are criminals, why isn't anyone in the opposing parties trying to press charges on them? You'd think they'd be right on top of it so the democrats would have all the power.
Just wait.. When people get that super power in their hands... They change, and they change fast... You'll see.
