The ultrasound is SO not accurate! I had one while in labor 3 years ago and they said my baby was going to be "no more than 7-7.5lbs." 2 days later, I squeezed out a 9lb 6.6oz baby girl.
I've read and been told that - on average - babies gain 1/2 a pound a week (that's *average* - it builds up to more than that per week, but it works out...) the last 6 weeks of pregnancy. That's all I can tell you. It all depends on the accuracy of the technician and the day your kid pops out!!
Congratulations and good luck!

One of my babies was born at 34/35 weeks, and he was 4 lbs 8 oz. At the time I figured out that at about a half a pound a week he would have been 6 lbs plus if carried to term. I also had a 37-week-er baby who was 5 lbs 13 ounces, and I figured out she would have been close to 7 if not 7 lbs at term. Considering my frame (my doctor said, "small mothers/small babies" are the general rule) my calculations seemed about right.
I think your baby will be either just under 8 lbs or else just over.
You probably are already aware that your baby is just about at the stage where he will be gaining his fat between now and delivery.
(If I recall correctly, I think they may sometimes lose a small amount of weight in the week or so prior to delivery if they're born at the right time. I could be wrong about that.)

Babies can gain anywhere to a few ounces to a pound a week the last month of pregnancy. I would bet you are going to have a pretty big baby if you make it 40 weeks. It definitely depends on how long you go. I would bet the baby will weigh anywhere from 6-9 lbs if you go after 36 weeks.

You still have 8 weeks left (for a typical 40-week pregnancy). Babies at the very end tend to eat and eat and eat, preparing themselves for birth and the outside world. A typical newborn weighs between 6 and 9 pounds. I don't think there's any way to figure out exactly how much YOUR baby will weigh, though. You'll just have to be surprised like the rest of us were when we greeted our little bundles of joy!

Well , it all depends on your body.
I'm 41 weeks now, they have him estimated at being 10 pounds when he is born. At 32 weeks..my baby was weighing in at 4.5 lbs. Good Luck and Congrats

Babies do the most growing during the last month in the womb. I would guess that the baby will weigh close to six pounds if not more by the time it arrives. congratulations and good luck, with the new baby there is nothing more precious.

Well the baby gains a pound in the last week of pregnancy alone, so I'd say you're on your way to a 7 or 8 pounder.
