Anytime I go to an oldies party or sometimes it dosen't have to be an oldies party, but any kind of event I go to, where there is Guyanese people, they party to Soca, but it never fails before the night is over, they have to get a little oldies in there to do the Waltz, so is this a Guyanese tradition, because the young and old take part in it.. i love watching the foot work, I'm Jamaican so, I kinda sit back and watch until I learn the foot work lol

Yes, it is a major part of Guyanese culture. It is a part of the British culture that was left behind after colonialism. Fathers and uncles take pride in teaching their daughters how to dance this way and its a family affair.
