If you have no control, then it's probably not love, but infatuation or hormones.

Love is a verb, it's something you do, not something you feel.

Since each of us has total control over our own actions, we cannot be in love against our own will.

We may be attracted, infatuated, etc, but not "in-love"

Yes because love is not something you are in control of. Your mind does not want you to be in love, but your heart knows that love is such a wonderful thing. I have been there, I met my boyfriend at a point in my life where I didn't want to be in love or be loved, or even be touched. You just have no say in the matter, and I suggest that if you are in love just let it happen, and you will see that it will bring out the best in you, even if you have been hurt before.

I believe it is. We are all scared of getting hurt. All the people who I ever hear say "I want to be in love" are the ones who have no one and are looking for someone, anyone. Love finds you-you don't go searching for it. That's not the way it works. I didn't want to be in love, I was scared of getting hurt...and not soon after I knew I was in love I was getting my heart broken. Love sucks, but I don't think it's something you have complete control over. If you're in love don't fight it...whatever is meant to be will be. It usually all works itself out for the best in the end. That's what I have to believe.

I would say this. Yes and No. your confusing your feelings, between real love and lust. Love is when you want the best thing for that person, if they don't choose you or things are not working out if you love them you respect that. Does it still make you sad of course, sorry man life is hard. God will help you if you ask.

Well, I have always believed that we have absolutely no control over who we fall in love with. You may not WANT to be in love, but it doesn't mean it's not going to happen if you come across the right person.

Yes, because love can hurt. Love can make a person do things they wouldn't otherwise. And if you want to be rational and calm, love does not mix so well.

My husband married me, when all his life he kept saying that he was never getting married. He didn't want a girlfriend either, but he got one. Some things happen whether you want them to or not.
