Like a lot of the other people I am going to say that it depends on the group you are playing with. I think overall it is easier to play Pictionary because anyone can at least attempt to draw, whereas Scrabble requires at least a fundamental knowledge of the English language.
However, if you in an excitable group Pictionary is a risky undertaking because it is subjective which leads to more arguments because there is know "right" answer. Disputes in Scrabble can be resolved by consulting a dictionary.

Play Scrabble if you want to relax with a couple of people, learn some new words, brush up on spelling. It's good for helping kids to learn, as well.
Play Pictionary if you are looking for some fun and laughs with a group of friends. It's been 20 years, but I still laugh when I think of a pictionary game I played with friends in high school and the word was kennel. One of my friends looked at the picture of a dog in a cage and said "Dogs in prison". Brought tears to many an eye, that one!

Depends on who you're playing with i like both a lot. larger groups play pictionary a lot more easily. Scrabble takes a little more thought and knowledge, so frankly i only like playing scrabble with some people, those whose average word length is at least five letters. Those games always progress better.

scrabble used to be my favorite game. it was fun challenging the made up words and fun learning new words.

but

pictionary is a lot more fun. you'll soon see not everyone was born to draw and you still get to learn new words.

Pictionary is fun, but can be really frustrating for those of us who can't draw for crap! :-) I like scrabble better!
