they tend to wear these hats in night clubs too. I guess to keep the bright lights out of thier eyes, but then they will ***** if you wear sunglasses into a bar... what gives...? In high school the guys that wore cowboy hats were the guys that smelled like poo, I think they were just trying to cover up the fact that they pooed themselves.they had it in thier britches not on them.

Pretend cowboys look silly because they just don't wear a hat well. But put the genuine article in a great cowboy hat and a pair of Levi's - now that will stop many girls' hearts. Oh, and cowboys wear hats to protect their faces and necks from the hot sun out on the range. A baseball cap just can't cover the back of the neck very well...

Cowboys wear cowboy hats to keep the sun off of their face and ears. I think a true cowboy is incredibly hot in his hat!

because i dont think anyone can look horrible in a cowboy hat and really cowboys are about as hot as they come

It helps keep the sun out of their eyes, and its a great way to keep the heat off their head. Just like any other ol' hat.

Not to other cowboys.
For them, it's tradition.
Like for basketball fans to wear basketball jerseys to school, or for Scottish guys to wear kilts, or Japanese to wear kimonos.... depending on the situation and the company that you are in, its very appropriate.
