No, I have never "taken" a vow of silence however; I have committed to 'thinking' before words are let out of my mouth. This way - a long process of thinking before talking might ensure that someone else's feelings are never hurt - and I don't get "footnmouthitis"

nicely, it wasn't a vow, even though it did contain silence without speaking for 10 days. And no eye contact, no song, no interpreting, no eating after 12 midday, no vigourous actual activity, no touching. 10 hours an afternoon of meditation. It develop into positive. non violent. It positioned me in contact with countless issues. And it made me very comfortable. All my muscular tissues were given very loose and my recommendations grew to develop into very nevertheless. that is positive to attempt this for longer, truly, yet, nicely, the push of existence is going on.

Yes, for 10 days. It was one of the hardest things I had done in my life up until that point. I was at a meditation retreat. It was a good thing to do. No talking smack for 10 days.

Yes, in my late teens. I was testing myself in preparation for life in a convent. I didn't pass. lol!
