Well, I had my daughter early (37 weeks), and I was very glad to have my bag packed and ready to go :) I don't think you need to pack it quite yet, but you could put some of your basics (the stuff that you just can 't see living without for a day or two) into a bag just for your own security sake.
I found it helpful to buy duplicates of the stuff that I really wanted (like my favorite shampoo, warm socks, etc) and keep it packed early. That way, I wasn't giving up my favorite stuff at home to have it sitting in a bag I didn't really need yet.
I remember being in your position...early pregnant, desperate to do SOMETHING to make me feel like I was being productive in moving forward to the day my baby was born. Go ahead and pack whenever you want and ignore the people who tease you :)
Good luck!!!

If the first was early, I'd pack by 32 weeks just to be safe. But then again, I'm now 35 weeks and haven't done a single thing to get ready for this child. Eeek. I guess i should listen to my own advice before it's too late!

hey, just pack it at 6 months....to keep yourself busy...talk to your doctor, your friends, your nurse, and maybe the internet about what to pack....once it is packed, I bet you have a sense of relief....one less thing to worry about right? Or just pack a very small one now and add to it as you go...You are obviously an organized person and you just want to make wise decisions...so just be prepared, which will help you be calm during this exciting time...best of luck..Brandon, father of 4

I am packing my bags at 36 weeks, I know my son could come at any time but for some reason I don't think it will be any time soon.

you could always make a list of what you need and if you go into labor early you could just make sure you have what is on that list without having to worry about needing it before that
