Coral Springs, Coconut Creek, Parkland, Tamarac, Weston and some parts of Sunrise.

Coral Springs, Coconut Creek and Parkland are all in the Northern part of Broward. They're all excellent and are about 20-30 mins away from Ft. Lauderdale (depending on your traffic situation). Parkland is a little more upscale, but a very safe community. Coconut Creek and Coral Springs are very nice with good neighborhoods, schools, parks and all the perks of an average size city. ( I want to say Coral Springs' population may be about 200, 000 and Coconut Creek a little less). Tamarac and Sunrise are both located in the Central part of Broward and are closer to FT. Lauderdale, but the schools and neighborhoods are not as nice as Northern Broward. Weston is a wealthier community located off of the Everglades and is very convenient to FT.Lauderdale.

Broward in a very large county, something like 1.5 million people , and it's very crowded and congested. I personally would only live in the Northern part.

My wife moved to S. Florida from Seattle 3 years ago. She is ready to go back. Housing is not cheap here and taxes are outrageous, as is rent for most apartments/condos. However, if money is no object then I'd suggest Victoria Park (east of I-95 between Broward Blvd and NE 15th. This is a great area very close to beaches and Las Olas (the Rodeo Drive of Fort Lauderdale). Parkland is a very nice and very expensive area but a ways from Fort Lauderdale city center. The Plantation area is also a good choice and a little closer to Fort Lauderdale city center.

Best of luck!

coming from Southwest broward there are a lot of good nice family areas there. It just depends on how much you're willing to spend.

I lived in west Pembroke Pines for 10 years and loved it. My parents still live there and they love it

I suggest Pembroke Pines, western Plantation, Davie, Weston, and Sunrise

anyway Pembroke Pines is an amazing city with really good schools. They have an awesome Charter School system, which i grauated from =D, with the high school earning an A grade in the Florida school grading system.

We moved to Coral Springs about 6 months ago and it is wonderful! Check out coralsprings.org for more information. Parkland is nice, too.

Hope you have lots of money. We're renting a 2/2 condo for $1200/month and it is very nice. We wanted to check out the area before purchasing a home. Taxes and insurance are pricey. But considering how close we are to the beach, the awesome weather, and the beautiful community, it's a great experience (even if we do rent).

I live just to the north in Brevard county. The best advice could be gotten from a realtor. Because there is so much competition in the realty market, most realtors are very honest.
